The German brand “Braun” used the most advanced technology in their Series 9 shavers for their deluxe users and charges very high which some users can not afford. However, Braun has some solo models in the Series 9 that do not come with an automatic cleaning center and charges a bit lower. The Braun 9330s is the newest solo model in their Series 9 that comes with more extras than the older solo models. In this article, I’ll cover everything including features, specifications, pros, cons, and the extras of the Braun Series 9 9330s electric shaver.

I have to admit that Braun Series 9 comes with a very sleek design and user-friendly interface.

But the hardness of the shaver’s body should be better which is fully built in plastic.

Braun did not make any update to the built quality in the new generation Series 9 shavers as well and was comparably downgraded to Braun Series 7.

However, the new generation Braun Series 9 Braun 9330s comes with a new look with a matte silver finished appearance that feels more professional than the older glossy chrome finish.

Braun also made a great update to the LED display which is undoubtedly the most advanced display ever to feel smarter.

Most importantly, Braun did not compromise the quality of the shaving head that has been made with unique technology, and the foil blocks are conjoined with stainless steel frame.

When you will look at the front side, the headlock switch will attain your attention first which is made in a big shape and textured with sensible dimples.

When you will slide the switch down, the headlock will be activated in your pointed position (1 of the 5 positions) and slide up to unlock the head.

Another thing you need to know is the slide-up trimmer.

When you’ll look at the rare side of the shaver you’ll find the long slide-up trimmer pointed with a small button.

Just press the button and slide up the trimmer to release and use it. The built quality of the trimmer is really good but you may feel uncomfortable while using the trimmer since it has been made with a straight design.

The design may feel comparably downgraded to the Series 7 in terms of user-friendliness, but the built quality is good enough.

Although a plastic-made body, the Braun Series 9 9330s will not feel cheap I admit.

I think you do not need to make more than 1-2 strokes in a place for close shaves even on a 3-day longer beard.

If you shave regularly, it’s a great solution to make your face clean and smooth every day.

When you inspect for shaving comfort, I must admit that the Braun Series 9 doesn’t have any alternative in the foil industry.

I experienced the most comfortable shaves with the Braun Series 9 shavers I have ever tried.

Since a wet/dry shaver, you can have both shaving facilities without any compromise of shaving power with the Braun 9330s shaver.

I tried with shaving foam and the result was very similar to the dry shave.

While tried the shaver for a fast dry shave, I never felt razor burn or skin irritation at all.

The precision trimmer is good enough for the final touches after a shave.

When my beard became longer, I tried the trimmer to trim off the beards before shaving and the trimmer also provided good results for full trimming but took comparably a very long time than the professional trimmers.

However, the main duty of the trimmer is precision trimming, not beard shaping and it’s good enough in its duty.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance keep the shaver’s health good and fit for further use.

Since a solo shaver model, the Braun Series 9 9330s doesn’t have an automatic cleaning system.

So you have to clean the device manually in 1 of two possible ways.

Dry cleaning:-

The shaver package comes with a small cleaning brush that allows you to clean the shaver quickly. 

You just need to brush off the debris from the outer foils and inner blades easily with the cleaning brush.

It’s a very easy and fast process to clean the device after every use.

Wet cleaning:-

Since a wet/dry shaver, you have to clean the head thoroughly after every wet shaving.

Fortunately, the Braun Series 9 shavers are very user-friendly to rinse.

For thorough cleaning, firstly remove the foil cassette by pressing the release buttons at the left and right side of the head.

Then put the cassette chamber under tap water or sink it for removing all the debris from the cassette.

Then turn the shaver on to activate sonic vibration and put the shaver head under the warm tap water.

I recommend using some drops of liquid soap to make the cleaning process hygienic.

Thus clean the head and foil cassette and then turn the shaver off after 30 seconds.

After a rinse, jerk off the access water and wipe the foils with a soft cloth.

I recommend cleaning the shaver after every use and using the wet cleaning process to keep the shaver’s health better and germ-free.

Charging

Again, Braun provides a charging stand instead of automatic cleaning and charging station to charge the shaver.

The charging stand securely charges the device from a universal power volt and takes 1 hour for a full charge.

You need to just put the shaver on the stand from the bottom side of the shaver and then attach the charging cord with the stand power outlet to charge the device.

After 1 hour or having a full charge, you just need to detach the shaver from the stand and start shaving.

For an urgent shave, you can also remove the shaver after 5 minutes of charge and start shaving and you will have a full shave with that power.

Replacement Part

Every electric shaver demands a replacement after a specific period of use. Braun Series 9 is a durable shaver and the replacement head and blades also last comparably longer.

However, you have to replace the cutting blades and foils after getting dull to get optimum shaving results.

Braun suggests replacing the blades after 18 months of use but I think you need to replace them prior to or after that time according to your shaving habit.

The replacement head of Braun Series 9 is very available in Braun’s showrooms and Amazon.

After a replacement, the shaving performance will feel very similar to a new shaver.

If you are good at cleaning the device manually, there is no negativity in that limitation for you and it will save some extra costs.

The same device with an automatic cleaning facility is the Braun 9370cc which will cost higher than the 9330s.

Remember, you have to replace the cleaning cartridge after consuming one and that is a frequent cost of ‘cc’ shavers.
